Oz Expedition Answers

Over the last few days, many of our elves joined an Oz Expedition to help Dorothy return home to Kansas. The islanders have been successful and Dorothy is on her way home. Congratulations! Elves that answered all 10 questions correctly will receive an awesome Ruby Slippers badge. You’ll find the badge in your wardrobe later today.

Luau Expedition Answers

Great work on the Luau Expedition, islanders. The awesome Lil Hula Lamp has just been handed out as a prize. Special congratulations goes to Lilbumbles for submitting such a great lamp concept.

Below are our Luau Expedition answers. Keep in mind, there may be more than one acceptable answer for some questions. Thanks to all who participated!

1. Start in the room where Elf Island held our Luau earlier in the month. What is the name of that room?

Answer: The Beach

2. Luau is a Hawaiian word. What does it mean?

6. All this traveling is making me hungry.  Go visit MOD-Titan’s room to snack on some Tropical Fruit. Out in the water you’ll see a clue about what room you should visit next.  What room is it?

7. Now that you’re in the next room, which Elf Island creature do you see here with you? (Hint: Use the Elf Island Field Guide for information)?

8. There are two goods in the Elf Island Marketplace that have the name of this room in their name. What two goods are they? (Hint: They are in two different stores)

9. Time to see more animals on Elf Island. Head to Host-Saturn’s room (using the Elves & Places Feature) where you’ll be greeted by a flock of birds, including several Flamingos. Flamingos can be found in many tropical areas. What gives flamingos their pink color?

If you’re successful and get all 10 out of 10 questions correct, you’ll win an awesome Luau themed prize!

End your Expedition by using the Elves & Places feature to visit the island of a player that shares the same name as the bird you answered in question 10. There you will get a preview of the final prize for elves that get all 10 answers correct!

Prehistoric Expedition

dino_footprint previewIt’s time to journey through history back to Prehistoric Times! We’re challenging all elves to a Prehistoric Expedition across the island. Explore, follow clues and put your prehistoric knowledge to the test. If you’re successful and get 10 out of 10 questions correct, you’ll win a cool Prehistoric prize!

In this Expedition you’ll need to follow the mysterious dinosaur tracks and discover what creature has been leaving its mark all over Elf Island. Good luck!

Elf Name:

1. Start the Expedition in MOD-Titan’s room by using the ‘Elves & Places’ link on the bottom right of your screen. What Prehistoric creature appears to be getting a drink from the water?

2. Now follow the dinosaur tracks into Titan’s home. As you can see, you’re at a Prehistoric Excavation site surrounded by fossils and bones. How many Dino bones do you see in this room?

3. From here, follow the Dinosaur Footprints to the next room. In the next room, the footprints spell out the name of one of the Elf Island staff members. What staff member is it? Now follow the tracks onto that staff member’s home.

4. In this staff member’s front yard you’ll be greeted by a T-Rex. Although T-Rex was a fierce predator, it wasn’t the largest carnivorous dinosaur. Which of the following was the largest carnivorous dinosaur?

a. Velociraptor
b. Allosaurus
c. Spinosaurus
d. Procompsognathus

5. Although those are some really big carnivores, the biggest of all the dinosaurs were called “Sauropods”. Which dinosaur in this room is a Sauropod?

6. Now that you’ve answered some dinosaur trivia, let’s continue following the tracks into the next room. Up ahead you’ll see a pack of Velociraptors trying to get to a Pterodactyl nest in the trees. How many more eggs are there than Velociraptors?

7. One of the rooms on Elf Island has a mysterious, large egg. Could it possibly belong to a dinosaur? What room is this?

8.  Speaking of Dinosaur eggs, visit the Holiday Curio and find out how many coins the Triceratops Egg costs?

9. Perhaps a Triceratops is leaving all of these footprints. Try using the Elves & Places feature to find the name “Triceratops” and visit their home.  In the yard you’ll see the Triceratops investigating the skeletal remains of another dinosaur. What dinosaur’s remains is it looking over?

c. Dilophosaurus
d. Pterodactyl

10. The Triceratops is there, but the tracks continue on. Follow them into the final room. Your Expedition is almost over! In the final room follow the dinosaur tracks to see what dinosaur you’ve been tracking all this time. What kind of dinosaur is it?
