Participating staff members will be opening their homes and giving out a special prize, so make sure to visit them all to complete your Halloween collection. Elves that are looking for a treat should be in costume during the event, and of course, you have to remember to say “Trick or Treat!”

Several staff members will be participating in this one day event. Use the Elves & Places feature to visit their homes. Here are the homes that will be open for trick or treat:

The party will take place Oct 30 through November 01 in the brand new Halloween Party House. Visit the Party House all three days to receive an exclusive Halloween Party gift! We’ll also have frequent Host games with Halloween prizes, a new badge, and a Halloween room decorating contest! And if you haven’t completed the Monstrous Adventure yet, you’ll have until close of game on November 01.

To enter, please get your parents help and send a screenshot of your room to support@elfisland.com between October 30 and November 01. We are no longer judging rooms by M button request. Include your Elf name and “Halloween decorating contest” in the subject line of the email. Also be sure to include your Elf name and a brief description of your room in the body of your submission. Please leave your decorations up through the weekend just in case our judges need to double check any rooms. Only one submission per elf allowed.

We’ll be looking for rooms that are unique, creative, and take advantage of our Halloween themed goods. Ten winners will receive an exclusive prize and 1,000 coins each. The 10 winning rooms will also be featured here in The Tide.

Need help taking a screenshot? Read below!

If you have a PC.

(1) Hit the “Print  Screen” (or ‘PrtSc’ button) button. It is usually found at the upper right portion of the keyboard, or near the delete and scroll lock buttons.

This action takes a picture of the whole screen and puts it in the Windows clipboard for later use.

If your Print Screen button is in blue, you will need to use the Function (FN) key too.

(2) To view your image, you will need to use a graphics program like MS Windows Paint, or Adobe Photoshop.

Open the program and press the Ctrl and V buttons together. It will paste the image into the program.

(3) You probably will only need to cut up or “crop” your screenshot.  Follow the instructions on cropping for the program you are using.

(4) After you have done this, click the File menu and choose “Save As…” to save your image as a jpeg or bitmap to send to Elf Island to show all your friends!

If you have a Mac (Apple Computer).

(1) Press COMMAND, SHIFT, and the 4 buttons all at the same time.

(2) A crosshair will pop up where your cursor was. Hold down the left mouse button and select the area you would like a screen shot of.  Release the button, and the screen shot will be saved to your desktop.

(3) Click the screen shot on your desktop to open it in Preview. You may also open the file in another program if you wish.

(4) After your screen shot is opened Preview, click File, and choose “Save As…” to save it as a jpeg or bitmap to send in to Elf Island!

Only one room submission will be accepted per Elf. Only rooms submitted on October 30-November 01 will be accepted. Make sure to submit your room using the email address that your account is associated with so you can be confirmed as the owner.

Our Monstrous Adventure will take you on a journey through Elf Island where you’ll encounter some of Halloween’s most infamous monsters. To get started, visit Tenderfoot on the Beach between October 22 and November 01. Complete the Adventure to win a variety of exclusive prizes! The Monstrous Adventure will disappear at close of game on November 01.
