Scrumpertons winning Lamp

By Cub Reporter IslandDance

I am very excited to bring you an exclusive interview with Scrumperton, one of the winners of the Design a Hula Lamp Contest.

Sit back and read all about her exciting win.

First of all, Congrats on the award winning entry! It is great. You should see my room…it’s filled to the brim with Your lamp!

“Wow! Thank you so much- I am very honored!”

OK, first question

Q: What inspired you to make this lamp from the Hill Giant?

A: Ever since the Honduras Quest, the Hill Giant has been one of my favorite characters on EI. He was the first thing that came to mind when I read about the contest, and I knew I had to enter!

Q: Did you ever expect it to be this big of a hit with Every Elf on the Island?

A: I cannot believe the reaction from all of the elves! I am so glad everyone likes it so much.

Q: How did you feel when you saw it on the list of entries?

A: Oh, I was so excited.

Q: What was your first reaction when you found it on the Beach?

A: I was beyond thrilled when I saw him on the beach. He came out so great, and they even animated him the way I described in my entry. As an artist, this is one of the coolest things that has happened to me. To have an idea brought to life in a game, where so many people loved it, is just amazing.

Q: If you could be anything, you wanted to be, what would you be?

A: An illustrator. My dream is to illustrate a children’s book.

Thank you so much for your time.

So you have it, she was VERY Excited to have won this award! See ya around the Island and remember, be safe and Do Good!

Signing off….IslandDance

Ponder-and-Prattle

Greetings, elves! Welcome to Ponder & Prattle. Here we answer questions and discuss new features of Elf Island.

Mistygolden asks, “I saw a planet. Where can I get a planet.”

Planets were available in the stores during Space Month. We are sorry if you missed it. If you really want a planet, maybe you can find a kind elf to trade with, or maybe someone will be Good and gift it to you!

Mistygolden also asks, “Can non-members participate in decorating contests?”

Yes, non-members may participate in decorating contests.  We want all elves to participate in the decorating contest.

Tinkonice  asks, “Are we allowed to enter more than one submission in the caption contests?

Sure! Enter as many captions as you like. Just be sure to submit your captions to tide@elfisland.com, and include your elf name so you may be rewarded with a prize. Any captions received through the “M” button are also accepted.

MagicalWinds asks, “Will there be new sections of the Tide someday?”

The Tide, the official blog of Elf Island, is always changing to please and to entertain and delight our faithful readers! You will see new sections pop-up from time to time. We welcome any suggestions you may have about new sections.

Moeshapeach asks, “How can I get the invisibility bug? I want to be invisible!”

Currently Invisibility isn’t a player feature of Elf Island. You may see Rob, a member of our Staff, as an invisible elf, but that’s because he does a lot of secret elf duties that require him to use camouflage.

We hope that you weren’t led astray by your fellow elves.

Katie_d asks, “Non-members can play the GoodQuest, but they do not get the QuestKey or Prizes. Do the bears they save count towards the Quest Goal?

Elf Island wants our whole community, members and non-members, to be able to do real Good! Your hard work doing Good to help protect polar bears does count towards the Quest Goal.

GOT QUESTIONS???

If you have a question, please submit it using the “M” button on the top navigation bar. Select “Something Else” as the message type. In the elf name line, enter “Ponder & Prattle,” and then type your question.

If your question is selected, you will receive a special prize. Prizes are awarded within a few days of posting the article.

stuffed polar bear defaultGreat work so far on the Polar Bear GoodQuest, elves! The Elf Island community has made a lot of progress to date, but we need to put in that little bit of extra effort if we want to meet the Goal of protecting 60,000 virtual bears in order to help bears in the REAL world.

As an extra GoodQuest incentive, Elf Island is challenging all elves to protect at least 75 Polar Bears this weekend (Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30). All elves that protect at least 75 bears during this time will receive a special prize, with a repeat prize for every additional 75 protected.

Come on Elf Island, we can do it. Keep on Gaming for Good!
