Nationwide Children’s Hospital (represented by the avatar at center front) came to visit Xeko on Dec 29 to talk with the players who have been successful in obtaining several computers for their hospital patients’ use.
Nationwide answered many questions while HOST-Groovy kept the elves orderly and in line, as shown here in the photo that was taken during the one-hour event. Highlights of this informative chat will be posted in another article in The Tide.

Can you believe it happened already? At approximately 12:17 PM EST on Monday, the Nationwide GoodQuest has been completed! Over 200 players teamed up by playing a fun game to provide 7 real computers for patients at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital. We fulfilled our goal with 11 days left to spare! Members who met the minimum requirement of 400 computers built in-game will receive a shiny new QuestKey to unlock a secret room and a prize. Remember, there’s still plenty of time to earn your key if you haven’t already!
Great job Xeko!!! We have a strong community, and when we combine our efforts together, we can accomplish anything. Keep up the good work on these Quests!

Hello, fellow islanders! As you may have realized, the year of 2009 is ending in a few days. Ending already? I remember when I first joined the island, and I was a non-member shopping in the Holiday Curio, purchasing a “New Year 2009″ sign. I’m sure many of the Beta Elves have such awesome memories. It’s great walking around the island now, seeing new faces, and the holiday spirit is flourishing.

Xeko, you are amazing. Not only have you earned your QuestKey, you have also ensured that 7 computers will be donated to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Children at the hospital will now have the chance to utilize computers while they are having treatments or just need an escape from the hospital environment. Because you have done such great work so far, Xeko is challenging you to help provide the hospital with an 8th computer!

Xeko is holding a New Year 2010 Party and you’re invited! The main festivities will take place in the Holiday Hollow on December 31st and January 1st.
Visit the Holiday Hollow on either of those days to collect a special party gift. The gift will appear on December 31st and repeat for any players that miss it on January 1st. Players can also visit the top of the Holiday Hollow throughout the party to watch New Year countdowns from across the world! (more…)
Hohoho, Islanders! The holidays have sure come to the island. However, why not spread some more Christmas cheer? I have made the decision that I, Santa_Elf will visit the island each year for two days. This is how it works: I will come on to the island on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Every elf will receive one gift from me for the holidays. This is NOT an official elf island event; it’s just me trying to spread more holiday cheer. I decided I will do this every year.

Xeko is holding a Holiday Party from December 24th to December 27th. The Holiday Hollow Party room from last year will return as the scene of the party, and players can expect to see frequent visits from Santa flying across the globe!
The Holiday Hollow will hold two special party gifts. The first will arrive on Thursday, December 24th and the second will appear on Friday, December 25th. The gifts will repeat on the 26th and 27th for any players that missed them the first time. (more…)
