A little about Elizabeth~ Elizabeth, now five years old, was diagnosed as having partial complex seizures at 10 months of age and has overcome years of testing, prescriptive treatments and surgery to find herself virtually seizure-free for the past year. Her family knows that things can change at any minute and are happy with where Elizabeth is and they are enjoying life.
What is Epilepsy? Epilepsy is a common condition that causes repeated seizures. The cause of epilepsy is still unknown. The seizures are caused by bursts of electrical activity in the brain that are not normal. Seizures may cause problems with muscle control, movement, speech, vision, or awareness. They usually don’t last very long, but they can be scary. The good news is that treatment usually works to control and reduce seizures.
Epilepsy is not a type of mental illness or retardation. It generally does not affect how well you think or learn. You can’t catch epilepsy from someone else (like a cold), and they can’t catch it from you.

Thank you to all of the islanders that participated in the WildAid chat on Jan. 28, we had a roaring good time! WildAid was extremely impressed with the questions that were asked. Below we have posted a few questions from the chat. Additional questions and answers will be posted as we work to complete the second Tiger GoodQuest goal!
February 2nd is Groundhog Day and Xeko is celebrating with a Groundhog Day Adventure!
Xeko will be hosting a chat with a representative from WildAid this Thursday. WildAid will be here to answer questions about tigers, the Tiger GoodQuest and ways that you can help these majestic giant cats!
Nicely done! On Tuesday, the final items were purchased from the Haiti Relief Store. With your virtual donations, Xeko will now be able to give a REAL donation to Mercy Corps. One of the much-needed items is water for earthquake survivors. Not only is water so significant because right now their water systems are not functioning properly, so there is a lack of available water to drink. The temperatures there are also high. As we are experiencing winter weather here, the average temperature in Haiti is 90 degrees during this time of year.

Practice your dance moves and get ready to party. Xeko is holding a special Disco Celebration!
Xeko, you all have done it again. You have met the GoodQuest Goal, what an amazing job! All members who catalog at least 150 tigers will earn their QuestKey at the end of the GoodQuest. Some players have officially earned the 10th QuestKey, which is such an accomplishment. You have helped to build homes, build a camp, help pandas, polar bears, and sharks, provide nutrition, planted trees, and sent a chronically ill child on a vacation of a lifetime.
