Xeko uses real moderators and a robust dictionary chat to ensure that safety is maintained and enforced at all times. Xeko does not share your child’s personal information with third parties for any kind of solicitation. We do NOT sell, rent or trade our user’s information. We do our very best to uphold the highest standards by offering the safest environment within Xeko. Our players can only chat from a dictionary of safe words while interacting online. Our site also has a team of “live” professional moderators to help players maintain a happy and healthy chat environment. Moderators are scattered throughout the gaming environment to ensure that all activity is COPPA compliant, and have the authority to handle any situations that may arise during game play. 14. Q: How can I manage my child’s account? You can create a parent account to upgrade, downgrade, and view renewal dates. Click here to create a parent account. 16. Q: Why can’t I say my real name or other information about me? Giving out personally identifiable information, such as your name, age or contact information, is unsafe behavior and against the Xeko Rules. If you do give out this information, you risk being banned! 17. Q: What is the secret of Xeko? You’ll have to discover that for yourself! 18.Q: How do I recognize a staff member? Staff members have the title Mod or Host in front of their names. You may also see some staff members that will be wearing a staff badge. There is a rather large crew of Moderators and staff members. They all have a prefix of “MOD-“ or “HOST-“ in front of their Xeko title. Staff members are here to make sure that Xeko is a happy and safe place. If you see them, make sure to say “hello!” 19. Q: What is the difference between a HOST and a MOD? Hosts are Xeko staff members who run events and games for the Islanders to enjoy. A MOD is a Moderator who watches over the player’s chat and makes sure that everyone is safe and following the rules. However, both Hosts and Mods are staff of Xeko and both are able to enforce the rules of the island. 20. Q: Can all players participate in host events? Yes, there are rules in order to play so that everyone has a fair and fun time. During a host game, a player can only win one prize per host shift, no trade requests during a game, dancing, monkey emoticons, or animal tricks; these are very disruptive to the players trying to participate in the host event. 21. Q: What if someone else tells me they are staff? If someone else is telling you they work for Xeko, don’t believe them. If they are posing as staff in an attempt to scam you or obtain information from you, please report them to staff immediately. 22. Q: How do I contact staff? Use the ? symbol on the top right of your screen to send a message for staff. This is meant for emergencies and general questions only and should not be abused. We do encourage you to read our FAQs, or ask other players for information too. If you need to contact staff in order to report another player, click on that player and then press the “report” button. 23. Q: What are the Xeko Rules? We expect all players to follow the Xeko Rules while visiting and playing our virtual world. Click here to view the Xeko rules https://registration.xeko.com/registration/rules. If you have a general question about the rules, please email support@xeko.com. 24. Q: What happens if I don’t follow the Rules? If you don’t follow the Rules, you run the risk of being banned from Xeko. Read the Rules on the main page in order to prevent this from happening. https://registration.xeko.com/registration/rules 25. Q: What happens if I get banned? If you get banned you will not be able to access Xeko for a period of time that is decided by our Moderation staff. The more serious the offense and the more previous offenses you have, the longer your ban is likely to be! 26. Q: Can I get unbanned? Maybe. If you feel your ban was an error, feel free email support@xeko.com to report the incident. We will investigate it and report our findings back to you. If appropriate, the ban will be lifted. However, if the ban was fair and you broke the Xeko Rules, then we will not be able to remove the ban, but will reply to your email letting you know the circumstances. 27. Q: If I get banned and I’m paying a subscription, do I get my money back? Nope, sorry! The Xeko Rules are presented for players to accept prior to registering an account. In the event that you were banned in error, make sure to send an email to support@xeko.com immediately. We will investigate the ban and remove it if necessary. 28. Q: My friend got banned. When will he/she be back? The duration of a ban depends on the severity of the offense and how many previous offenses a player had. We do not share this information with other players. 29. Q: If I get banned, will I be banned forever? The duration of a ban depends heavily on the offense and a specific player’s moderation history. Someone who has a long record of previous offenses is much more likely to be banned for a longer period of time. On rare occasions, we do permanently ban players. However, as long as you’re following the Xeko Rules, you don’t need to worry about being banned. 30. Q: I got a message from staff, but I wasn’t doing anything wrong. Why? Some messages sent by staff are general warnings to a disruptive room and do not necessarily target a specific player. If you were not displaying unacceptable behavior, someone else in the room was. In order to make sure you do not receive any more of these warnings, we suggest you go to a new room. 31. Q: I don’t want to get banned. How do I make sure that it doesn’t happen? Thoroughly read the Xeko Rules and make sure that you are following all of the rules listed there. If you are following the Xeko Rules, you will avoid being banned. If you are close to violating a Xeko rule, a moderator may send you a warning, to prevent you from being muted or banned. If you have any questions on what behavior is and is not allowed, please click the ?to ask a moderator. 32. Q: I reported a player. Why didn’t he/she get banned? All reports are investigated and the appropriate action is taken. We do not discuss these actions with other players. 33. Q: How can I help? If you see any players that are violating the Xeko Rules, use the ? symbol to report them. Be as specific as possible with your report. However, please only report each incident once and use it only for emergencies. If you really want to help, try doing some GoodQuests. Each GoodQuest you play helps do good in the real world by saving sea turtles, building homes and saving the Earth by recycling. 34. Q: Why do some words and letters flash red as I type them? A word that flashes red is not in the dictionary, which means you, cannot say it on Xeko. If a word shows as black, then that means it is part of the dictionary. 35. Q: Why can’t I say some words? Xeko has a dictionary of words that our players can say. If a word is not in our dictionary, then you can’t say it on the island! To assure that Xeko is appropriate for all of our players, there are many words that are not in our dictionary. You can click the ? symbol if you have a word you would like reviewed to be added to the dictionary. 36. Q: How do I become staff? Do your homework, eat your veggies and have fun. Currently we are not hiring. 37. Q: What if I have a complaint about the staff? Do not use the ? symbol to report staff. If you feel that the staff is treating you unfairly or they are breaking the Xeko Rules, email support@xeko.com to report the problem. However, keep in mind that abuse of the ? icon is also against the Xeko Rules, so do not send harassing messages to the staff. 38. Q: Why doesn’t my avatar have the title that I registered? When you first registered your avatar, you are assigned a temporary title. The Xeko staff will review and approve your title if it’s appropriate. If it’s not appropriate, you will be asked to select a new title. 39. Q: When will my title be approved? Your title should be approved within the day of registration. However, if your title is denied, you will be asked the request a new title for your character. 40. Q: How do I make friends? You can meet all sorts of other players while on Xeko. If you have trouble finding friends, try visiting a public room such as the Ice Cavern or Marketplace. Click on a player and then press the “add to friends list” button in order to send a friends request to that player. If that player accepts, then you will both appear on each other’s list. 41. Q: Why can’t staff be on my buddy list? There’s not enough room on our buddy list for everyone, so to be fair to everyone the Xeko staff does not allow players to be on our friends list. Staff members are friends to all of the islanders, but still cannot add you to their buddy list. There are no exceptions to this rule. 42. Q: How do I contact my friends when they aren’t on Xeko? It’s not safe to give out any sort of contact information online. Doing so is against the Xeko Rules and will result in you losing play-time. Never give out your phone number, email, username on other sites, or any other means of contact. If you want to send a message to your friend, click the bottle at the top of your screen to open the Xeko Mail feature, then click email to send your buddy a message. 43. Q: A player is bothering me, what do I do? Click on that player and then use the Ignore button in order to keep yourself from being able to see their chat. If it is an emergency situation, you can click the player and select the “report player” button to report that player to staff for review. To allow yourself to once again view a player’s chat, click the ignore button again to “un-ignore” them. 44. Q: How do I earn coins? You earn coins from mini-games on Xeko.
